Out of stockThese lip-type buffer seals are designed for replacement in Caterpillar® cylinders. The hinged-lip design reduces friction, heat, and wear under low-pressure conditions and acts as a check valve allowing back-pressure relief. Seals for rod sizes 2-1/8" and under do not have a back-up ring. Caterpillar Specific Buffer Seals - DYR Style

Style DRTU-BHT rod seals are molded in Freudenberg® AU 30000 urethane. These seals are specifically designed with a second lip on their inside diameter and engineered to attain maximum life and reliability in dynamic rod sealing. This feature results in reduced leakage, less friction, increased stability, and prevents air and contaminants from entering the cylinder. This high tear-resistant urethane demonstrates stability throughout a wide range of temperatures. In addition, this material is well suited to mineral and biodegradable hydraulic fluids as well as being resistant to hydrolysis.

Style RU9 seals are molded from MDI based Zurcon® Z25 urethane. This seal offers good elasticity with low compression set while maintaining a high level of tribological characteristics. The dynamic seal lip incorporates slide segments that will increase back-pumping capabilities while reducing friction. The RU9 style rod seal is ideal for hydraulic applications where high temperature and high pressure performance is required.

SCS offers material advantages of with our family of urethanes in standard o-ring sizes. The high extrusion resistance and related compounds eliminates the need for a back-up in many hydraulic applications, thereby simplifying installation and reducing groove width. Our unmatched temperature rating makes it suitable in applications where other urethanes fail. In addition, Our O-rings provides superior water resistance and compression set resistance in water-based fluids. Premium urethane o-rings are much less prone to spiral failure and installation damage compared with rubber o-rings. Dimensions and tolerances of our o-rings match up with AS568B specifications for diameter and cross-section and are used in the same grooves. 90D = 90 Durometer B = Bulk (Min Quantities) V = Viton (Fluorocarbon) T = 55-58 Shore D PTFE U = 90A Urethane V-BLACK = Black Viton (Fluorocarbon) EP = Ethylene Propylene S = Silicone
